Analysis of a Combined Solar Drying System for Wood-Chips, Sawdust, and Pellets

The future of conventional fuels has limited sustainability and creates disquietude because the ubiquitous energy crisis worldwide. judicious use biomass or wood-based is inevitable. quality wood depends on moisture content, subsequently, solar drying solutions can play a vital role in adequately storing controlling fuels. In present study, novel forced convection cabinet-type dryer was developed investigated for its thermal performance. An artificial neural network (ANN model) created to predict final content system. behavior three distinct fuels, i.e., woodchips, sawdust, pellets, kept under observation plot curve based their calculated ratio. reached maximum temperature 60 °C while maintaining gradient 10–20 °C. exergy efficiency recorded as 55% 51.1%, respectively. ANN-optimized model found suitable with reasonable values coefficient correlation (R) model.
